my choice of idosing to be my subject comes from a show i had watched years ago called 1000 ways to die “Tone Death”, Way to Die #937, is the second death featured in “If You’re Dead – Leave a Message and We’ll Get Back to You“, which aired on January 5, 2011. This episode talked about a boy who had died from such low frequencies educing an aneurysm while listening to binaural beats. From there i went on to research and explore the world of idosing and the history of how it began. It was first discovered by German scientist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove in 1839. He discovered binaural beats in 1839 while studying how people hear sound. He experimented with two tones that had slightly different frequencies. He played one sound in one ear and a different sound in the other ear.
Instead of hearing two separate tones, the brain seemed to create a third “beating” sound. For example, if one ear heard 200 Hz and the other heard 210 Hz, the listener noticed a soft 10 Hz pulse or beat.
Dove realized that this effect was created inside the brain, not in the actual sounds themselves. His discovery helped scientists better understand hearing and how the brain processes sound signals.
