The way binaural beats work
Binaural beats are an auditory phenomenon created when the left ear and the right ear observe two discrete tones of similar frequency through headphones. The brain synthesizes the two tones creating a ‘beat’ inside the brain. Maybe you can think of it like when you play two stings on a guitar that are slightly out of tune and you hear something like a waving (at least thats how it sounds to me) What makes binaural beats different from music is that the phenomenon is being produced as a result of the brain trying to synthesize two separate tones. kind of like when you view a 3d movie with with the blue and red glasses. the left eye and right eye are observing 2 separate images that the brain combines into one. This has been used in medical processes for example researchers were using delta waves (associated with sleep) on patients about to go under for surgery. They found that patients using binaural beats required less anaesthetic and had faster recovery times than those using music or nothing at all.
