For my project I want to create a instrument that captures the sound of mechanical parts like motors. rather than the use purely digital or oscillators to create tones and frequencies, the hums and buzzing of anything with a current running throughout can create its own unique sound. I’ve experimented with using pickups/electromagnetic microphones to capture audio from electronics surrounding us on a constant daily basis, that are inaudible to our ears. these secret sounds these devices produce when layered harmonize together creating something quite beautiful that we miss out on everyday. I want to reproduce this hidden ambience around us in my project while also having human interaction modulating the sound, like we do without knowing or hearing.
