I wanted to create a stereo output for the motor synth with 2 separate pickups capturing the frequency’s from different angles. When paired with a left and right inputs on a interface it will create a surround sound illusion. Due to the cassette shell size it was slightly impossible to have a additional pickup but ive figured out a work around, which will also add a additional effect to the build. The effect being a volume sweep using the spring action cassette cover as a volume knob depending on the distance from the motors.

The way pickups can hear the frequencies of the motors has to do the the changes in magnetic field surrounding them. the faster the motor spins the tighter and intensity of the magnetic field changes. The pickups can also hear the vibrations inn the metallic casing of the motors adding to the sound you hear.
