The composition starts with a salt tub which I shook to create the rhythm of the piece. My main objective was to rhythmically use house held objects in two second loops and stack them like a orchestra. For the low kick sound I used a book and shut the book with force to produce a thump and pitched down by 5 semitones. Another main sound in the composition is the jacket zipper which once recorded I sued simpler sampler to randomly select intervals in the sound source to create the rhythm. My next idea to incorporate house held electronic items into my composition stemmed from the use of my electromagnetic microphone, as I wanted a drone/melodic tone this was the perfect tool to use. Holding the electromagnetic microphone over a computer monitor created this exact tone that I had in mind creating some static ambience so the percussive parts wont feel empty.
