We stated by setting up 3 sets of different microphones: condenser room microphone, dual stereo microphones and a shotgun microphone.
We all took turns screaming into the condenser microphone with each person having a different take and perspective on the scream. for example someone had been told to scream as if they were falling off a cliff and another if the stock market crashed.
The next goal was to create the sound of a fire. To achieve this we use every microphone we had setup placed in different points of the room. There were three people assigned to the hi frequency crisp and crackling sound of the fire. These funds were produced using reel to reel tape, dry noodles and paper. The lower windy base parts of the fire we created using a large cloth sheet while two of us shook and moved it randomly and in a agitated manner to create the thick and unexpected sound of the fire.
